Who is your favorite singer?

相信每個(gè)人心里都有一些最喜歡的東西。最喜歡的英文就是favorite。最喜歡的食物(favorite food)、最喜歡的顏色(favorite　color)、最喜歡的歌手(favorite singer)。那么你最喜歡的歌手是誰(shuí)?Who is your favorite singer?如果你沒(méi)有特別偏愛(ài)的歌手，可回答：I don't have a particular favorite.(我沒(méi)有特別的偏愛(ài))。相反你有一個(gè)非常喜歡的歌手，可以用firm favorite，例如：Michael Jackson is my firm favorite.(米高積遜是我非常喜愛(ài)的歌手。) Hot favorite是指非常流行 / 受歡迎的東西，例如：This song is a hot favorite in Hong Kong.(這首歌在香港非常流行)。

B：Well, I liked to do so many things so I didn't really have a regular hobby. But I was a rock singer and I still perform occasionally.

要說(shuō)所喜歡的人、物等，英文多會(huì)用favorite一字，作形容詞(adjective)解作‘特別喜愛(ài)的’，作名詞(noun)則是指‘特別喜愛(ài)的人、物’，例如：(1) War and Peace is my favorite novel.(《戰(zhàn)爭(zhēng)與和平》是我很喜歡的一本小說(shuō))。(2) Coca-Cola is a firm favorite with my son.(可口可樂(lè)是我兒子百喝不厭的飲料)。

最喜歡或最不喜歡，就是most / least favorite，例如：Madonna is my most / least favorite singer.(瑪?shù)つ仁俏易钕矚g / 最不喜歡的歌星)。

父母、教師等偏愛(ài)的孩子，也可用favorite 一字來(lái)說(shuō)，例如：(1)Peggy has always been her mother's favorite.(佩琪向來(lái)都是她母親偏愛(ài)的孩子)。(2) It is not advisable for a teacher to have favorites in the class.(教師不宜偏愛(ài)班中幾個(gè)學(xué)生)。偏愛(ài)或徇私的行為，即favoritism，例如：(1)The chemistry teacher was accused of showing favoritism to certain students.(化學(xué)老師被投訴，說(shuō)他偏愛(ài)某些學(xué)生)。

競(jìng)賽之中獲看好的選手、動(dòng)物等，一般都稱為favorite，例如：(1) He bet $2,000 on the favorite to win the horse race. (他把二千元賭注，押在馬賽中最多人看好的那匹馬上)。(2) He was a hot favorite to win the election.(這次選舉之中，他很有機(jī)會(huì)獲選)。
