It doesn’t matter

.所謂誰人無錯，犯錯的時候，應(yīng)該得饒人處且饒人。當(dāng)別人誠懇地向你道歉時，你也應(yīng)該善意地響應(yīng)一句：It doesn’t matter.(沒關(guān)系，不要緊)或者說：It’s not important. / It’s not a big deal.　(這個不重要這 / 沒什么大不了)。此外，如你見到朋友好像心情不佳，你也不妨問候一下：What’s the matter?(有什么事?)如果不太想回答，可說：It doesn’t matter.(沒什么，不要提)。

A：Adrian? Sweetheart, I’m sorry I crashed your car last night.

B：I know. It doesn’t matter now.

A：And I knocked somebody down. His face looked a lot like yours.

B：I know. It doesn’t matter now.

A：What do you mean it doesn’t matter? Don’t you care for me anymore?

B：Yes I do, but I have to leave you now.

甲：亞德里恩?　甜心，對不起，我昨晚把你的車子撞壞了。

乙：我知道，不要緊。

甲：我還撞倒一個人，他很像你。

乙：我知道，不要緊。

甲：什么不要緊?難道你不關(guān)心我嗎?

乙：我當(dāng)然關(guān)心你，但是我現(xiàn)在要離開你了。

說It doesn’t matter.(不要緊)，可以表示客氣的 ‘不必介意’，也可以表示冷漠的 ‘這和我無關(guān)’，例如：(1) “I’m afraid I’ve messed up the room.” “It doesn’t matter. The room needs cleaning anyway.”( ‘對不起，我把房間弄臟了。’ ‘不要緊，房間反正要清潔了。’)(2) “The tax on cigarettes is going to rise.” “It’s doesn’t matter to me. I don’t smoke.”( ‘香煙要加稅了。’ ‘這對我沒有影響。我不吸煙。’)

要說 ‘這對我沒有影響’，英文還有(It) Makes no difference to me. 的說法，隨便一點可說：(It) Makes me no difference，例如：Cigarette tax hikes make no difference to me(香煙大幅加稅，對我沒有影響)。英文indifference一字，就是說 ‘漠不關(guān)心’，形容詞是indifferent，例如：Adrian is totally indifferent to what his girlfriend has done. / Adrian shows total indifference to what his girlfriend has done.(亞德里恩對女朋友所做的事，完全漠不關(guān)心)。

亞德里恩決定和女朋友分手了，所以，無論她做了多么可怕的事，都說：It doesn’t matter now。通俗一點，他還可以說：Makes no nevermind to me. 或Makes me no nevermind。

美國口語以nevermind作名詞，意思是 ‘關(guān)懷、注意’或 ‘關(guān)懷、注意的事情’。這個字須用于否定句，這里不妨再舉一例：Pay him no nevermind.(不要理他)。
